DDB Latvia created a unique online donation platform to increase the number of donating graduates in Europe (http://donate.alumni.iv). Graduates from the Stockholm School of Economics (SSE), along with other interested parties, were invited to take part in a donation competition. Each donation was visualized depicting the breakdown of relative donation amounts according to the donor’s year of graduation, donor country of residence, and individual donor name.

The goal of the platform was to increase the number of graduate donors from 11% to 25%. The campaign succeeded in addressing 33% of former SSE students. That percentage is currently the best result in all of Europe.

In total, €92,000 was donated for financial aid grants, and university renovations.

Top business schools are judged by their alumni contributions. Donations have become an important and trustworthy indicator of alumni appreciation.

SSE has succeeded in overtaking the activity indicators of the most prestigious universities in Europe with this exciting new platform. And SSE’s new goal is to achieve the world’s best participation rate and beat out Stanford University for the top spot by 2014.
