DDB Worldwide was named runner-up for Network of the Year at the 2018 Spikes Asia Awards, held from 26 to 28 September in Singapore last week. The agency group’s strong performance was led by wins from DDB New Zealand, which was also awarded 2nd place as Asia-Pacific Agency of the Year, DDB Sydney, and DDB Mudra – each of which picked up a Glass Spike – The Award for Change celebrating culture-shifting creativity.
DDB took home a total of 36 Lions and 15 shortlisted entries. DDB New Zealand’s campaign work for Steinlager ‘Fight for Territory’ was awarded 2 Grand Prix, 3 Gold, 4 Silver, and 1 Bronze metals; Powerball Lotto ‘Armoured Truck’ hauled 2 Silver, and 1 Bronze awards; Netsafe’s ‘Re:Scam’ took home 2 Gold, 3 Silver, and 3 Bronze metals; and Speights ‘The Dance’ picked up 2 Silver awards. DDB Mudra’s StayFree ‘Project Free Period’ for client Johnson & Johnson was awarded 1 Glass Spike, 1 Gold and 5 Bronze awards. DDB Sydney’s campaign ‘The Matriarchs’ for Carefree under Johnson & Johnson was also awarded 1 Glass Spike, while its work for WestPac was awarded 5 bronze metals. Shortlisted entries included work submitted from DDB Singapore and Naga DDB Tribal.
