DDB Oman named 'Best Advertising Agency Of The Year 2010' at the Oman Media Awards.
March 1, 2011: In recognition of excellence in strategic thinking and creative execution of varied communication campaigns, DDB Oman was named Best Advertising Agency for 2010 at the Oman Media Awards ceremony on January 31, 2011.
Presented by Creative Press & Publishing, publishers of City Business magazine, the annual awards recognize excellence across various sectors of the media that include advertising, public relations, social media, events and journalism. This is the third year of the awards, and the first time that DDB Oman has won the prestigious title.
The award comes to the agency as the advertising industry in Oman is challenged by trying times, and facing severe competition from both within the industry and the region. Srikanth Viswanathan, DDB Oman Managing Director, said: "We are delighted to have been named Best Agency of the Year 2010 by the Oman Media Awards. The fact that the judges selected us serves to underline the talent and commitment of our team and the support of our clients and partners. This win will encourage us to keep pushing our limits further."
Pravin Amudan, Sr. Art Director, DDB Oman wins OER 'Green Champion' award.
July 1, 2010: DDB Oman's Sr. Art Director, Pravin Amudan has been awarded the 'Green Champion' accolade at the prestigious Oman Economic Review (OER) Green Awards 2010 held at the Hotel Intercontinental, Muscat.
Pravin Amudan has been selected as the individual who has done the most to promote environmental measures in the office premises as well as the community. Among his several trend-setting initiatives is conceptualizing and publishing 'The Little Green Guide', a handy guide with over 70 easy-to-follow, everyday tips on how each of us can reduce our carbon footprint.
He authors www.thelittlegreenpage.blogspot.com. a blog for people to contribute their ideas and to download the book. Pravin was instrumental in tying up with the Environment Society of Oman (ESO) to initiate a paper recycling drive and installing bins outside the office for recycling plastic. As a result of which around 2.5 tons of paper have been recycled, in just over a year.
"Pravin has always been our very own green champ in the office, over the years he designed the innovative 2009 Mazda calendar on the global warming theme which was also shortlisted for the OER Green Award. He also fabricated an innovative tissue dispenser that has been erected in our washrooms to highlight the excessive wastage and damage to the environment thereof also won an award. This dispenser design has been extended across all OHI offices as a message to cut wastage which is apparent when one sees the overflowing toilet bins each day. We are proud of his efforts and support him in this endeavour and once again congratulate him on this great win." said Ms. Radha Mukherji, Executive Director, DB Oman.

As the country's first Environmental Awards, the Oman Green Awards have been created to awaken the eco-consciousness in every citizen and resident. The ultimate aim is to motivate behavioral change and increase awareness in relation to the protection and preservation of our environment.
