Bots that translate real-time conversations for deaf gamers

Unexpected: Online gaming conversations are fundamental to playing and being part of the game, but millions of deaf gamers worldwide miss this multiplayer experience because they can’t hear voice commands.

Pilsen Callao, the beer of friendship from the AB-InBev portfolio in Peru, developed E-nterpreters. Artificial Intelligence bots trained to translate real-time conversations on Discord into sign language to include deaf gamers in the experience of communicating, sharing, and making friends.

Works: The idea was a total success in the video game community.

Bots were downloaded in 120 servers (groups) in the first 24 hours. The solution translated more than 453,000 words in the first week. In just five weeks of having launched, the bots already had 260,000 minutes of machine learning, and it continues to develop in other languages such as English, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean.
