DM9 Turns Microplastics from Disposed Blood into 3D-Printed Objects
To raise awareness about the dangerous amount of micro-plastic coursing through the human body, DM9 and Brazilian biotech company OKA Bioembalagens launched ‘Plastic Blood’—a sustainable design exhibition that challenges us to rethink plastic pollution, not just as an environmental issue, but as a personal one. By extracting microplastics from over 1,000 discarded bags of human blood, this campaign demonstrated a chilling truth: there’s enough plastic in our blood system to reproduce everyday household items.
