Luis Miguel Messianu Named DDB McDonald’s Global Chief Creative Officer

We are proud to announce that Luis Miguel Messianu, Founder, Creative Chairman and CEO of Alma, will take on the new role of DDB McDonald’s Global Chief Creative Officer. Luis Miguel will assume this new role while continuing to serve as Chairman of Alma DDB.

As the DDB McDonald’s Global Chief Creative Officer, Luis Miguel will set and uphold the standards for the DDB Network spanning 46 markets. He will inspire and nurture ideas that build the McDonald’s brand and business, spearheading global creative initiatives.

Luis Miguel is a proven, experienced creative and respected industry thought leader with deep connections to the McDonald’s brand.  Luis Miguel was the Creative Director at the agency that first introduced the brand in Mexico, and Alma DDB has been the Hispanic agency of record in the U.S. since 1994, shortly after Messianu founded the agency.  Most recently Alma DDB was recognized in Advertising Age’s A List Awards as an exceptional honor bestowed on the agency in part due to their work on McDonald’s.

DDB’s current creative momentum on McDonald’s is strong, in large part due to the contributions of DDB Global Chief Creative Officer Ari Weiss and his active role in assessing, shepherding, and actively improving our creative output. Ari will continue to support our efforts on McDonald’s.

DDB Global CEO Marty O’Halloran said: “We have asked Luis Miguel, our senior-most creative leader on McDonald’s around the world, to take on this additional role.  He is tasked to lead and actively improve our creative work.  I’m convinced he will strengthen DDB’s creative reputation on McDonald’s as their partner in 46 markets.”

Isaac Mizrahi, who has been with the agency for the last 13 years, will take on the role of President and CEO, partnering with Alvar Suñol, President and Chief Creative Officer.  This team has been responsible for Alma’s incredible work and phenomenal growth over the last few years.  They have both worked closely with Messianu and will lead Alma towards the future and will continue to do so under the DDB Latina leadership of CEO Juan Carlos Ortiz.
