Michael Goldstein’s Input on Reddit Going Public featured in The Drum
The social platform is reportedly going public in March. The move could be a boon for the company’s advertising business, which has faced stiff competition in recent years. But the path ahead is not without challenges.
Many advertising industry leaders believe going public would boost Reddit’s advertising business. It would not only elevate its profile in the competitive market, but would enhance the overall platform’s capabilities and user experience.
Michael Goldstein, Head of Communications Strategy, DDB North America is also in agreement: “What always follows a social platform IPO is pressure to increase ad revenue, which generally means an investment into more ad products, more sophisticated tactics and more premium sponsored real estate. I predict all of that will happen with Reddit and they will begin to focus on bringing their ad product up to speed.”
