An unlikely platform for women’s sports

Insight:
In 2022, 93% of the Brazilians watched the FIFA Men’s World Cup. In June 2023, only 25% were planning to watch the FIFA Women’s World Cup.

If there’s one thing Brazilians watch, it’s the iFood delivery app, the largest in Latin America. 50 million Brazilians spend, on average, 38 minutes per week browsing iFood, searching for what to eat.

We did the only thing we could: we delivered our audience to the FIFA Women’s World Cup with iFood Audience Delivery. By partnering with the World’s Biggest Football streamer, Casimiro Miguel, we broadcasted all the FIFA Women’s World Cup games inside our app.

Impact:
A total audience of +21MM people watched the games within the iFood app. Time spent in the app was up 28% during the entire duration of the FIFA Women’s World Cup. More people spending more time on iFood led to a 23% bump in orders.
